WHY WE STARTED FLYDAYS

In 2023, Sara walked into a school uniform company and told the CEO the quality wasn't good enough. He said: "Nobody cares." She disagreed.

Flydays is what happened next.

THE FLYDAYS MISSION

A Child Who Is Comfortable Learns More

A child who is hot or cold can't focus. A child whose clothes itch and pull doesn't settle. This has been documented in peer-reviewed research for years. Yet nobody had applied it to what children wear.
Almost every child in Ireland wears a school uniform. If that uniform was built for how children actually move and feel, the cumulative effect on classroom performance would be significant for tens of thousands of students. Every day.

Ireland could lead the world in this. We’re starting with one school at a time.

The Three Of Us

Sara, Helen and Mark have been friends since 2005, long enough that Helen is godmother to Sara and Mark's eldest son. So before there was a company, there were twenty years of friendship.
It's the reason Flydays works the way it does: the people who design the uniform and the people who make it have trusted each other for two decades.

From Olympic Uniforms to School Uniforms

When Mark and Sara set out to fix the school uniform, they turned to one of her closest friends, who just happened to own a factory making clothing for Adidas, Puma, NFL teams and Olympic squads.
That friend is Helen. And if her factory is trusted to build for the world's best athletes, it can certainly build for the school yard.
